How does portable storage work?
It's pretty simple. We drop a Gooder Box at your place, you load it whenever it suits you, and then you decide: keep it right there, or we pick it up and store it at our yard. When you're ready, we bring it back or deliver it to your new address. No rental truck, no rushing.
What sizes do Gooder Boxes come in?
We have two sizes. The 16-foot Gooder Box (8' high × 8' wide × 16' long) usually fits a 2–3 bedroom home, about 1,200 sq ft. That's about the same as a 10'×15' storage unit or a 20-foot moving truck. The 20-foot Gooder Box (8' × 8' × 20') fits a 3–4 bedroom home, about 2,000 sq ft, about the same as a 10'×20' unit. Not sure which one? Is it easy to load?
Yes. Every Gooder Box loads at ground level with less than a 6-inch step. There are no ramps, and the double-locking barn-style doors open wide so you can reach the whole box.
Can I keep the box on my property?
Absolutely. Lots of folks keep their Gooder Box in the driveway during a move or remodel. Our remote-controlled delivery bot sets it down level, so your load doesn't shift.
Do I need a permit or HOA approval to keep a box at my house?
Most driveways don't need a permit. Street placement, or placement at a multi-family property, may need a permit from your town (often called a right-of-way permit), and HOAs can have their own rules, so check with them before delivery. We're happy to walk you through any questions.
Where do you deliver?
We cover a lot of western Colorado from two yards. Our Grand Junction yard (2322 US-6 And 50, Grand Junction, CO 81505) serves the Grand Valley (Fruita, Clifton and Palisade), Parachute, Montrose, Delta and the North Fork Valley: Hotchkiss, Paonia, Crawford and Somerset (see portable storage containers in Grand Junction). Our Glenwood Springs yard (4067 County Road 154) serves Glenwood Springs, New Castle, Silt, Rifle, the Roaring Fork Valley (Carbondale, Basalt and Aspen) and the Vail area, including Vail, Edwards, Eagle and Gypsum (see portable storage containers in Glenwood Springs). Do you have a storage yard in Vail or Aspen?
No, we don't have a yard in Vail or Aspen. Both are served from our Glenwood Springs yard, which is our closest yard to them. We deliver right to your driveway, and if you'd rather not keep the box on site, we bring it back to Glenwood for safekeeping.
How far ahead should I book delivery?
We like a few days' notice to get you on the schedule, but sometimes we can do the day before or even the same day. Just call us at (970) 510-6464 and we'll see what we can do.
What are your hours?
Our yard office hours are Monday–Friday 7 AM–6 PM and Saturday 8 AM–12 PM. We're closed Sunday. You can always call us at (970) 510-6464.
Can I get to my things once they're stored at your yard?
Yes. Access your box during yard hours (Mon–Fri 7–6, Sat 8–12); after-hours visits can be scheduled ahead.
Will my stuff be OK in snow, rain and summer heat?
Gooder Boxes are secure, weather-resistant boxes built from high-grade SPA-H and SPA-C material with stainless hardware and a corrugated ISO-style roof that sheds rain and snowmelt. When it snows, we may reschedule a delivery. We make that call the same day, putting the safety of our drivers and your belongings first. In summer, like any storage, avoid packing heat-sensitive items such as candles, aerosols and some electronics.
Is there a deposit or a minimum rental?
No deposit, ever. There's a 1-month minimum, then it's month-to-month for as long as you need. Cancellation is free 24 hours or more before delivery.
Is my stuff protected?
Contents protection is available through Storage Protectors, a third-party program, along with a container damage waiver. Customers are enrolled in the minimum plan unless they're already covered: send us proof of your homeowner's, renter's or business policy (an insurance binder or COI) to info@gooderstorage.com and we'll waive ours.

How much does it cost?
